About Feeding Therapy

As a feeding therapist, Julee works with you, setting up ideal environments for eating and drinking everywhere.

Feeding therapy helps skills transition into the real world.

Sessions are scheduled at times that can work easily for your family meals or snacks.

Visits are to help support and solve issues for:

○ Those who don't love to eat a bunch of different foods, avoid textures, colors, tastes or something about it. these are called: aversion. We overcome them!

○ Swallowing aka dysphagia. Differences, disorders or disease preventing the food from going down or staying down safely and easily. Manage and stay well.

○ Sensory Processing: When the texture or the touch gets in the way, the reflex point is off or something just isn't signaling or feeling right about this whole mealtime and eating stuff. These sessions fix that.

○ Oral Skills: These have to grow with us our whole lives. How we use our lips, tongue and mouth makes a difference right from the beginning.

○ Oral motor and sensory function. How we are chewing and swallowing, oral resting posture and placement for speaking, sitting around and sleeping.

○ These are the signs and signals, the feedback. Simple ways to know just what is going on, the subtle communication of eating.

○ Amazing mealtime experiences. Let's have some of those! we set it up to be fun and work through what makes it feel uncomfortable or wrong.

○ Loving food, meals and wholesome nutrition. Let's get that to happen on the regular.

Family mealtime and socialization. The whole family is part of the mealtime practice.

Julee has been involved in eating, feeding, communication and swallowing function; normal and disordered throughout her whole career.

Her many teachers and mentors all focus on food and eating, the support of communicating with our bodies and selves for optimal wellbeing. the nourishment we take in, food, thoughts, words, behaviors and sensory experiences.
